The graph illustrates data on the popular activities that children at different ages do before going to bed.
By and large, reading occupies most of the time of all ages. It is obvious that
while unhealthy activities such as watching TV and eating are spent a considerable
number, the three remaining activities are more ubiquitous.
Children aged from 4 to 5 years old prefer reading, which registers the highest
figure of age group, at 70%. Additionally, over 60% and under 60% belong to
children who are 1-3 years old and 6-8 years old respectively. Furthermore, half of
the children aged 6-8 use most of their bedtime for brushing their teeth,
compared to nearly 50% of 4-5 years old and almost 30% of 1-3 years old. It can
also be seen that those 1-3 years old are the age that have the most preference
for having a bath, taking up 40% of the total.
In terms of unpopular activities, the children aged 4-5 years old who are keen on
watching TV have the same figure as eating, making up 40%. The two remaining
age groups occupy smaller numbers, varying up to 10%.
TASK 2: Some people think scientific research should focus on solving world
health problems. Others think that there are more important issues. Discuss
both views and give your opinion.
Scientific research has played a pivotal role in the survival of nations. Many
believe that the issues about global health are incredibly necessary to be
concentrated on dealing with whereas others contend that there are more
significant dilemmas. In this essay, I will discuss both views before showing that I agree with the latter opinion.
It is understandable why many people support the view that health problems
should be taken into consideration. Firstly, it is such a beneficial chance that
people can find out more new diseases which have never been seen in the
medical field. For this reason, patients suffering from rare illnesses can undergo
therapy from the latest medicines through scientific research. Furthermore, it is
an optimal way to build doctors’ knowledge. Take the covid-19 pandemic for an
example. If we had not researched the SAT pandemic that happened sixteen years
ago, now we would not fight against this new one. Thus, equipping with essential
knowledge about world health issues can limit sorrow deaths and advance the medical of countries.
On the other hand, there are a host of more vital problems that many face up. It is
immediately obvious that scientific research should focus on dilemmas about the
environment such as climate change. For example, in Vietnam, the adverse effect
which can be seen nowadays is the loss of biodiversity and fresh air. As a result,
the condition will worsen if people do not have a chance to access technical
research. Moreover, social problems are at an alarming rate, especially racial
discrimination. On news, Asia is one of the areas which has the highest racism in
the world, including India, Indonesia, and so on. Therefore, many foreigners
coming to these mentioned countries are suffering from this when applying for a job.
In conclusion, health is a concerning issue that we should take some research on,
but I contend that there are more imperative problems.
