Question 1 (6.0 points): Case study. Please read the case about Company A below and answer the questions.
Company A is a home construction company. The CEO notices that the company these days is no
longer a cheerful, pleasant workplace as it used to be. Just 2 years ago when the company was building
6 homes a year, the company’s members are highly responsible and supportive to each other; they
always tried be to meet the deadlines, perform beyond expectation, control the costs and keep the
clients highly satisfied. Recently, the number of homes Company A makes a year has been tripled and
2 more employees has been hired, but the complaints from the clients have been increased: Deadlines
are missed, mistakes are made on the houses, a lot of work has to be redone. Moreover, blaming appears
everywhere; no one wants to accept the responsibilities for the mistakes. The CEO has to solve a lot of
conflict between the departments and he also finds himself to have shorter temper these days.
The employees may be overloaded with the increased work but more staffs have been hired. Some
functions have also been outsourced to ensure optimal performance. The salaries are re-evaluated
periodically and have been increased a lot to brings competitive advantage to the company in the job
market. However, a lot of fun and creativity has gone; the CEO can see an obvious lack of enthusiasm
or close-knit relationship among the employees.
From your knowledge about Organizational Behavior (concepts related to attitudes & job satisfaction,
mood and emotion, motivation, leadership, teams & groups, and conflict, and literature from other
chapters), analyze the case of Company A by discussing these questions:

• What needs to be done to solve each problem you have mentioned? (3.0 points)
Question 2 (4.0 points): Globalization, digitalization, AI, robotics, sustainability, employee wellbeing
and future roles of manager. Discuss the challenges of manager and the benefits of understanding
Organizational Behavior in the future?
