Individual Reflection
My feeling about Ms. Phuong and my classmate:
I was surprised to know from MS. Phuong's profile that she studied in Finland and I am known
that Finland has one of the best educational systems in the world. Your methods of teaching make
the class more when you give us minigame at the beginning of the lesson, it makes me remember
longer about the lesson. Finally, you have given various tasks to each group for everyone to know
more about teamwork skills. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have studied with Ms.
Phuong, I learned a lots while studying with you. In addition, I met and became friends with my
classmates; they were always willing to assist me whenever I needed it, and I always treated
everyone with respect. Unexpected events can occur, but if they are handled calmly, everything
will go smoothly.
The most impressive topic: The Management Environment
In this topic, I learned two terms "External environment" and "Organizational culture".
External environment here is the set of factors, conditions, situations and events outside the
organization and those factors will affect the existence and performance of the organization. The
external environment consists of six components: Economic; Demographic; Technology;
sociocultural; Legal politics; Global. The external environment affects managers in three ways:
Its impact on work and employment; The degree of environmental uncertainty; The nature of the
related party relationship.
Organizational culture can be thought of as a system of core values, goals, attitudes, and working
styles shared throughout an organization that gives an organization its own identity. Seven
aspects of culture: Aggression; The stability; Innovation and taking risks; Attention to detail;
Results oriented; People-oriented; Group orientation. Culture comes from the vision or mission
of the founding founders. From there employees know the culture of the organization through its
stories, rituals, physical symbols and language. Organizational culture affects managers in two
main ways: Through its influence on what employees do and how they behave; Through its
influence on what managers do as they plan, organize, lead, and control.
My feelings about this topic:
After this lesson, I got a lot of new knowledge, particularly a lot of phrases that were absolutely
new to me, which made me extremely enthused about this lesson topic and inspired me to look
for more information about it. In my opinion, this is an important lesson that a manager needs to
know, because they must understand the needs that employees need to have in order for managers
to manage their employees. Understanding employees is an important step in becoming a good
manager
Change the way of thinking
Never thought that an environment, organization includes so many factors. After this lesson it
made me realize that and have a different and more profound view of the external environment.
Besides in each organization there is always a different culture, I was also very surprised about
this issue. Since then, I have had many ideas as well as future goals that I can apply on this useful
lesson. However, it is not enough to just learn the terms in this topic, so I need to continue to
gather different knowledge about management.
Help my future career development
From these two terms, it helps me gain more useful knowledge, especially the work of operating
and controlling an organization. Based on the six components of the external environment,
carefully examine and survey the environment around the organization, then give parameters and
analyze the situation, and finally make rational decisions. In addition, we can also apply the
seven aspects of culture to build what the organizational culture we want to be, then plan how to
build that environment to fit the culture organization. Through the application of the above
knowledge, the usefulness of this lesson topic has been shown to help future careers. I believe
these are all basic but extremely important knowledge for a manager so I will always keep these
knowledge in my mind.
The way I apply this lesson to my life
I am especially impressed with the term “Organizational Culture” because I have always wanted
to build an organization that I love. I wanted my organization to give every employee unlimited
creative freedom; a friendly and fun working environment where you can wear whatever you
want and even bring your pet into your office; and there are convenient and free services for
employees: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, sleeping area, gaming entertainment area, and so on.
And one such company that satisfies the bulk of my requirements is Google's Corporate Culture;
as a consequence of this manner of establishing an environment, its employees are always in the
best possible condition to work for the company. As can be observed, the job environment is
highly crucial to employees, and as a manager, I constantly prioritize my staff. As a result, the
organization that I oversee continues to develop.

Feedback on team dynamics:
1. How effectively did your group work?
Each member of the group consistently gives their best effort, shares resources and information,
clearly delineates roles and responsibilities, and supports one another as needed.
2. Were the behaviors of any of your team members particularly valuable or detrimental to
the team? Explain.
Each member of the group has their own strengths and weakness but everyone are working
extremely hard to complete it. When one of the members is having problems at work, the other
members will support and assist one another.
Strengths and weaknesses of each team member:
Lê Tịnh Bình:
This is me, and I am confident in my ability to generate presentations and reports in a timely and
correct manner. In addition, I consistently bring suggestions to the group.
Nguyễn Thanh Huy:
He can deliver a presentation confidently, undisturbed by language limitations. Completing the
job quickly and accurately, as well as contributing ideas to the group
Đỗ Ngọc Khánh:
She is the leader, and I believe she is capable of excellent leadership (managing work for team
members) and contributing ideas to the group.
Nguyễn Hà Thái Bảo:
He is rather quiet during the meeting, yet he nevertheless contributes to the group and completes
the job quickly and accurately.
Vũ Duy:
I see him working hard and enthusiastically, and he has contributed ideas to the group, but the
quality of his exercises is not always what I would expect.
3. How did the assignment 1 & 2 and handout 1 help you in the group process?
Identify group goals
Understand how the team works
Have experience in dividing work for the next assignment
4. What did you learn about working in a group from this course that you will carry into
your next group experience and to working life?
Doing teamwork will help me learn more and better grasp the topics, as well as
develop my ability to learn, listen, and collaborate with others.
When working in a group, it is necessary to understand the capabilities of each
member and their personality. Then divide the work based on those factors.
When an unfortunate situation occurs, calmly handle unexpected situations.
Those are the things I learned from working with the team.
