Group assignment 1
Exercise 1
a. There are increasing opportunity costs in the production of missiles because
the production of cars falls at a higher rate as larger quantities of missiles are
produced
b. It indicates that at point C
- The cost of one million more cars is (21000 - 12000)/2= 4500 guided
missiles
= 1/3 million cars
c. The point G indicates unemployed and inefficient resource use in the
economy
d. - The point H indicates the impossible outcome with the fixed resource
- The increasing in the input and output of an economy which is the
improved productivity (technological change and innovation, the
discovery and application of new, more efficient production techniques)
and new sources (a large labor force or an increased capital stock)

Exercise 2
a. The PPF curve for this economy
b. If output of wheat and cloths are 9 tons of wheat and 4000 set of cloths, I
suppose that the resources can not be used at maximum efficiency. For the
economy to use all its resources, it needs to simultaneously produce 20 tons
of wheat and 4000 set cloths
c. This economy can’t produce 20 tons of wheat and 10 000 set of cloths
because of the scarcity, it can only produce 20 tons of wheat and 4000 set of
cloths and that is the maximum
d. The opportunity costs of producing wheat and cloths:
- At point B, it loses 5 tons of wheat but only have 4000 set of cloths
The opportunity cost is 5/4 = 1,25
- At point C, it loses 5 tons of wheat but only have 3000 set of cloths
The opportunity cost is 5/3 = 1,66
- At point D, it loses 6 tons of wheat but only have 2000 set of cloths
The opportunity cost is 6/2 = 3
- At point E, it loses 9 tons of wheat but only have 1000 set of cloths
The opportunity cost is 9/1 = 9
